ME!
Sean Kranz is an HR professional with deep experience in operations management, team leadership, and project execution. He is an influential communicator with expertise building, developing, and mentoring best-in-class teams with talent for identifying future leaders. He's been a productive member of management teams with an ability to facilitate overall operational targets, optimize labor utilization, and improve financial performance. Sean is committed to employee development and engagement.
He currently works as a HR Project Manager for the Walt Disney Company. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School, a B.A. in Theatre from the University of Southern California and an HR Management Certificate from UCLA Extension. In his spare time, he loves to perform on the stage, which was a childhood passion of his.
He has appeared in nearly 50 musicals in the Northern and Southern California and was last seen as Ralph Rackstraw in H.M.S. Pinafore at Stage Door Repertory. Other recent credits include Anthony in Sweeney Todd and Monty Navaro in A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. At USC, he performed in the SOT production's of Into the Woods (Rapunzel's Prince), Company (Bobby), Bat Boy (Dr. Parker), Brigadoon (Stuart Dalrymple), and Little Women (Laurie). Having studied voice for 13 years, his first love is musical theatre. He has performed lead roles in Grease (Danny Zuko), The Music Man (Harold Hill), Footloose (Reverend Shaw), Big (Josh Baskin), The Sound of Music (Captain von Trapp), & Children of Eden (God) to name a few. He studied Acting Technique and Musical Theatre Performance at American Conservatory Theater of San Francisco; took part in American Musical Theatre of San Jose's Stars Academy program; and attended the Musical Theatre Conservatory at San Mateo's Broadway By the Bay. He also studied voice privately with Lita (Libaek) Adams (TheatreWorks, California), Gary Glaze (USC) and Thomas Shepard (NYU CAP 21 and AMDA, Los Angeles) and acting with Ed Hooks (Chicago) and Joshua Finkel (ANMT, Los Angeles).
In the film and commercial industry, Sean appeared in the movie, Sweet November with Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron as well as in 2nd Unit's TV show El Papel. He has also done modeling for Klutz Books, voice over work for PlaySchool and trained with Casting Director, Nancy Hayes.
Sean also plays the piano and he composes original music, arranges a cappella songs and writes orchestration for cabaret style musical theater showcases. With a fully equipped ProTools rig, he records a lot of his own music from his home studio. His Instagram account now regularly features covers by various artist in several different genres of music.
He was a member Sacred Heart Prep's "Singing Guys" and SHP's a cappella group, Pulse. Pulse recorded one album, Alive with Harmony, and was featured on the 2005 Best of High School A Cappella album. At USC, he has sung with both the USC Men's Apollo Choir and the USC Concert Choir which performed Mozart's Requiem at Disney Concert Hall with the LA Philharmonic. His recorded album, Musical Moments, featured music from several different genres including Broadway, classical, pop and jazz. He currently sings with the Disney Cast Choir and Candlelight Ceremony at Disneyland.
Sean served as an Artistic Director for Musical Theatre Repertory of USC for 2.5 years and had his directing debut co-directing a production of Urinetown. Sean also has also served as a lighting designer, sound designer, graphic designer, production manager and producer for several shows since 2001. Most notably, he has resided as the musical director for several shows including PYT's production of Charlotte's Web as well as the Peninsula Youth Theatre Alumni Association's annual alumni production four years in a row. Sean served as a founding council member of PYT's Alumni Association and remained on the council for 5 years consecutive years building a program to keep PYT alumni connected to PYT and to each other after going off to college and eventually graduating with careers in theater or other fields of interest.
